This is our lovely stall in the Brunswick Centre Market Place where we have been coming every Saturday for over a year come rain or shine to sell many different products from Palestine.
We sell wonderful Zaytoun items including olive oil, soap and za’atar as well as almonds and dates from Jericho. We offer tasters of olive oil and za’atar and already many people are converted to this delicious Palestinian breakfast. Also popular are Maftoul and Freekeh as we are able to provide recipe cards introducing new ways of cooking. On the stall we also have beautiful artefacts from Palestine including pottery and embroidery.
Why do we brave the wind and cold to be here?
Our goal is to raise money to foster our Women’s Link Group. We hope to bring Palestinian women to come to the UK and for British women to visit Palestine.
A great opportunity to talk about CADFA’s work on Human Rights
CADFA’s EVS volunteers have been the backbone of our sales team over most of the year assisted by a fantastic group of CADFA volunteers. Every week we engage with the public and talk about Palestinian issues and our human rights work.
Many thanks to EVS volunteers currently Migurl and Jean and to Stuart, Nina, Nasima, Cris, Andy, Paloma, Reba, Una, Elizabeth, Liz, Gill, Selma and myself, Annika.

Women's stall and women's products
If you're in London, look out for the weekly stall (every Saturday) run by the Cadfa women's links group for the past ten months. This began as a way to raise money for women's visits from Palestine to Britain (women above 30 were particularly keen not ALWAYS to have youth visits, lovely though those are). But this is also a useful.place to talk to people about Abu Dis, Palestine, human rights, the work of Cadfa. .. If you are in London and would like to help with it, let us know.
Meanwhile in Palestine, women are making embroidered products for the stall. .. Here is one example. If you're in London Don and you're interested on them then do let us know and we can get them here!!

Some of Women's Visit Facebook Posts
#Cadfa #womenslinkswithpalestine exchange in Palestine with 30 women from the UK and Palestine together, talking, looking, listening to stories, making things together.
HEBRON. Such a beautiful, old, important city strangled and menaced by settlers and military occupation... Here are top impressions (immediately afterwards) from some of the #CADFA #womenslinkswithpalestne visitors today #twinninginaction...
How emotional it was seeing a person released from prison after 13 years
How hospitable people are despite all the problems they face
A photographer describing the stories of young people killed by Israeli soldiers and whom he had seen framed (they had done nothing)
A very good day... wanted more time there
Lots of the Palestinians hadn't been to Hebron before: it's hard to move when the situation is so frightening
Someone from Halhul (near Hebron) who'd not been to th Old City before
Amazing resilience, the people living on with all the closures and settler attacks
(From UK grouo) the first time I've ever been in a mosque
Hearing of people's shops being welded shut by the Israeli army with the family inside
Skcked by a bullet proof sheet near Abrahams tomb; separating the mosque and the synagogue side
Seeing an Israeli soldier with a gun and feeling the market streets so claustrophobic
Seeing how close the settlements are
Abd how many
Seeing all the hurdles and nd how difficult to get into an important mosque, how difficult for people
Wondering what it could be like to have your town blocked so you can't go in and out
Seeing an army training session and teargas on the way to Hebron
Just a lovely day (young woman from Hebron)
Not surprised to see the shock on the UK people's faces, it shouldn't be like this Palestinian)
Thinking about how it affects every aspect of people's lives... how difficult it even is to get married
When we went to the women's centre, I felt hopeful: people are fighting for social rights for women. But then we visited the Old City and it turned round, soldiers closing people's doors aspect rend homes
Ladders into houses
The resilience of people staying and living through this
So many different emotions in one day: scared on the road, emotional, so sad to hear what's happening, happy for the girls who managed to get to the mosque this time...
